Community Paediatrics named Team of the Year as ward manager Maxine receives Chair's Award for Outstanding Performance

Winners crowned in CPFT Staff Awards 2015

The winners have been crowned in the CPFT Staff Awards 2015.

In an Oscars-style evening, Community Paediatrics and Support Staff were named as Team of the Year, while Maxine Coppard, ward manager of Oak 3 AAU at the Cavell Centre, Peterborough, was given the Chair’s Award for Outstanding Performance.

The Research Innovation Award went to the Windsor Office Dementia Research Team, who are based at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge, as is Jane Poppitt, the ward manager of Springbank who collected the Inspiration Award.

The Service User Experience Award went to Val Richards - a healthcare assistant on Oak 1 at the Cavell Centre – for developing a new cookery project for staff and service users, while Angie Smith, from the Dementia Resource Centre in Peterborough, collected the Service Improvement Award for her work to promote the issues caused by sleep apnoea, a condition which causes people to stop breathing at night.

The Karen Bell Recovery Award went to the George Mackenzie House team at Fulbourn. George Mackenzie House is a low-secure unit for patients with mental health difficulties which this year has marked its 20th anniversary.

Daisy Change – a Women’s Institute group set up by staff and service-users at Fulbourn – won the Newcomer of the Year Award.

Now in their third year, the CPFT Staff Awards aim to honour the incredible work of colleagues from across the Trust.

The evening attended by more than 200 staff was held at the Holiday Inn, Peterborough, and hosted by Heart breakfast presenter Kev Lawrence.
