Super CPFT staff raise more than £800 in one day
16 July 2018

Staff from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust have been praised for raising more than £800 for charity – much of it in just one day!

The colleagues, who are all based at Redshank House at the Hinchingbrooke Business Park, Huntingdon, held a cake sale and raffle to mark the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service.

Sarah White, data co-ordinator for the CPFT’s neuro rehabilitation and stroke teams who organised the event with colleagues Sarah Robinson and Sarah Simmonds, said: “We were absolutely delighted with everyone being so generous and buying tickets and helping us raise so much money. We’d also like to thank all the local businesses who were so generous in donating gifts for the raffle.”

The money raised will be split between CPFT’s Head To Toe Charity, which supports the work of the Trust and it’s 4,000-plus staff, and Breast Cancer Care.

CPFT provides community health care services to older people and those with long-term conditions, as well as mental health services across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Redshank House is home to a host of the Trust’s front-line clinicians and support service teams who work in the Huntingdon area.

Fellow organiser Sarah Simmonds, administrator for the Trust’s physio and therapy teams, said: “As well as CPFT staff being really kind, we also sold cakes and raffle tickets to other companies in the business park.”

The event took place on Thursday, 5 July, the 70th anniversary of the launch of the National Health Service. The final total raised was £840.

Clare Jones, manager of the Head To Toe Charity, said: “We would like to thank everyone who gave so generously. The money that has been donated to us will make a real difference to the patients of CPFT.”
