Staff at the Croft Child and Family Centre at Ida Darwin donned their best fancy dress costumes recently to raise nearly £100 for a local charity.

Team members chose characters to base their costumes on and came to work in a variety of disguises, much to the delight of the children on the unit.

Sheran Minton, senior administrator at The Croft, said they wanted to raise money for Arts and Minds,  a leading arts and mental health charity in Cambridgeshire that delivers robustly evidenced projects (of national significance) that deliver positive interventions for people of all ages who live with mental health conditions in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

"Arts and Minds has been working with the families on The Croft, both past and present, to refurbish our new low-stimulus garden. The staff team thought it was important to raise funds for this charity as a thank you for both its time and commitment towards our unit."

The Croft is an NHS residential (in-patient) service for children with mental health conditions and their families. It provides intensive assessment and treatment for children with complex emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. It also offers intensive work with parents to develop their parenting skills.
