More than 20 staff and service users enjoyed a 5k walk from the Cavell Centre in Peterborough.

Those who took part left the Cavell Centre and made their way to Thorpe Hall, Longthorpe, where they enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine.

The group arrived back at the Cavell Centre around three hours later.

Nora O’Shea, Physical Activities Facilitator, who is based at the Cavell Centre, said she hopes the idea becomes a regular event.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the weather was just wonderful,” she said.

“Having patients and staff walking together is a great way for everyone to mix, get to know each other better, and get some fresh air.

“I hoping we can do it at least once a month from now on. We’ve had some great feedback and hopefully even more people will want to join in next time.

“Everyone did very, very well on the day, and should be very proud of what they achieved. I also want to thank my managers for their support, the Occupational Team for all their kind help and support on the day, and Jenni Hart from Vivacity for her involvement."
